On Friday 14 July 2023, we celebrated Bastille Day at the Deramore Arms pub. A huge thank you to the Deramore Arms staff for hosting, to our trustees and staff members for organising and to everyone who came for celebrating and having a good time with us!
We celebrated the Galette des Rois in January, kindly prepared by the staff of the Deramore Arms pub.
Events with the AF network in the UK
Past events...
On Tuesday 21 February, they offered an online guided tour of the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau, one of the famous castles on the Loire Valley.
On Wednesday 15 March, they organised an online Meet & Speak event to speak French with other learners from the AFs around the country.
On Tuesday 4 May, the Alliances Françaises of Bristol and Bath organised a friendly challenge. It was a good opportunity to assess your knowledge on French language, culture, geography and history.
On Tuesday 24 May, they offered an online talk about Queen Victoria: La Reine Victoria, une icône de la mode? Learners were able to learn more about politics, fashion and power in 19th century Britain.
On Wednesday 21 June, they organised an online Early Summer Meet & Speak event to celebrate the famous Fête de la musique with other learners from the AFs around the country.
