Our Team

Director

Alongside her own teaching commitments, our Director is responsible for managing the Alliance Française de York. She works closely with our Board of Trustees and with the other UK Alliances Françaises and the Institut Français.

Tutors

Our courses are all taught by native French speakers. All our tutors are fully qualified and experienced in teaching online. One of our tutors is also qualified as an E-Learning tutor. Two of our tutors also teach in schools and are familiar with GCSE and A levels requirements. They lead all our exam revision sessions.

Administrator

Our office, membership, social media, marketing and events are run by our administrator.

​

Interns

Most years, we are able to welcome native-speaker interns who support our administrator. They get to know our members and learners, taking part in events and carrying out specific projects. However, due to the COVID pandemic, we will not be taking any new interns until further notice.

Board of Trustees

AFDY’s aims, objectives, finances and activities are overseen by our team of six Trustees.

Volunteers

Our volunteers help us at events and activities such as our Monthly talks,  Film Club, Café Conversation and Café Débat. If you are interested in volunteering opportunities, please get in touch!
