About us​​​​

We are the Alliance Française de York (AFDY), a Charitable Incorporated Organisation which promotes French language and culture in York and the wider region by teaching French, running cultural events and fostering friendly exchanges between France and the United Kingdom.

We are part of a network of 834 Alliances across the globe including 11 in the UK, in Bath & Bristol, Devon, East Anglia, Glasgow, Jersey, Leeds, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle and Oxford.

We are also closely aligned with the two Instituts Francais in Edinburgh and
London which share our passion for teaching French!​​
